Holyoke Mayor Joshua García has a lot of good news for the city in terms of affordable and market rate housing development, new businesses and more, including getting a handle on keeping the city clean. As he says, there’s money in the budget but the equipment is outdated and there are not enough people to do then work. This phenomenon of not enough workers is happening across the country.

Still, the city is getting its finances in order thanks to good working relationships the mayor has with department heads and the City Council.
