On June 3rd, the Holyoke community gathered outside Holyoke City Hall to observe the 12th National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
This survivor-centered event featured powerful stories and remarks from City Councilors Anne Thalheimer, and Israel Rivera, Holyoke resident Lyn Horan, State Representative Aide, Juan Anderson-Burgos, and others whose lives have been deeply affected by gun violence.
The event concluded with a formal proclamation reading by Holyoke Mayor Joshua Garcia.
