The 45th edition of the Holyoke St.Patrick’s Day Road Race began at 1:00 PM from the crossroad of Maple and Lyman Street, in Downtown Holyoke. With a drizzle that intensified to a bit of a rainfall for a good 10 minutes at the very start of the race, added to the exciting and dramatic start of the race, that had the motivational music by the Holyoke Caledonian Pipe Band, the oldest in the country.
