Genuine Culture LLC, managed to summon the unique vibe of a community event outdoors, with the presence of youth, pizza, music, and the positive energy of being together at the Holyoke Skatepark, with the event Gio’s Ollie Session.

On a sunny and bright afternoon of Saturday, July 9, 2022, youth from Holyoke, Chicopee, Springfield, Northampton, Easthampton, Palmer, came to the Holyoke Skatepark, next tp the Connecticut River, to show off their skills, have fun, be together, and utilize this unique space, designated for this sets of skillful activities where we saw youth from elementary and middle school, to highschool and college ages, on skateboards, bicycles, roller skates, and scooters, sharing space and having a great time as a community.

Theresa Cooper-Gordon and Damany Gordon, from Genuine Culture, LLC shared with us their thoughts on how the afternoon unfolded. And also recognizing the power of working in partnership, with Mass Development; Theory Skateboarding; Art for the Soul Gallery, in Springfield; La Diáspora, in Chicopee; and Paper City Clothing Company, in Holyoke.
