Jasarah Burgos es una líder comunitaria, quien llegó al área del Oeste de Massachusetts como consecuencia de la devastación del huracán María en Puerto Rico, estableciéndose de inmediato como alguien que buscó no solo su propia superación personal, pero también la de su comunidad al descubrir las necesidades existentes en diferentes aspectos de la vida social de la comunidad en la región.

Durante el tiempo que Jasarah ha pasado en el valle, ha tenido participación e impacto positivo en diferentes roles dentro del Departamento de Asistencia Transitoria en Holyoke, las Escuelas Públicas de Holyoke y actualmente como directora de participación comunitaria con New North Citizens Council en Springfield, MA.

El logro más reciente de Jasarah es el haber sido seleccionada como la Madrina de la Parada Puertorriqueña de 2023, la cual lleva como tema, “Nunca olvides tus raíces” y se llevará a cabo en Septiembre de 2023.

Jasarah Burgos is a community leader, who arrived in the Western Massachusetts area as a result of the devastation of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, immediately establishing herself as someone who sought not only her own personal improvement, but also that of her community by discovering the existing needs in different aspects of the social life of the community in the region.

During Jasarah’s time in the Valley, she has had involvement and positive impact in different roles within the Department of Transitional Assistance in Holyoke, Holyoke Public Schools, and currently as Director of Community Engagement with New North Citizens Council in Springfield, MA.

Jasarah’s most recent achievement is having been selected as the Godmother of the 2023 Puerto Rican Parade, which has as its theme, “Never forget your roots” and will take place in September 2023.
