Multidisciplinary Puerto Rican Artist, Yanira Castro, shares with us the details of her art project audio experience “Exorcism = Liberation”.

Exorcism = Liberation is the namesake of this public art project. It offers a different kind of campaign than the election we are in the middle of. It is a counter action. A counter proposal. An intervention. We want to connect, challenge, spark conversation, contemplate, move and provoke change.

Using the prompt question “What is your first memory of dirt?”, Yanira offers an audio experience that are a small rehearsal to feel and to act.

There will be a free event at the Holyoke Public Library, on Wednesday October 16th at 5:00 pm, were the public will be able to experience these audios, and share their thoughts, emotions, memories, and stories.

This is a collaboration of Yanira Castro/ a canary torsi with Holyoke Media, and local Holyoke teens, inviting the community to share their stories through verbal narrative, art, and writing as part of a larger project.
