City Has $22M to Distribute to Projects That Help Holyoke Thrive
The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 was passed by the federal government to support the economic and public health recovery of the United States from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
ARPA designated $350 billion in direct aid to state, local, and tribal governments. The City of Holyoke will receive over $29 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds from the United States Treasury Department to assist in the recovery from COVID-19. The United States Department of the Treasury continues to issue guidance on the use of Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds.
The City of Holyoke will provide updates to the requirements for funding as federal guidance is received. Holyoke’s share is $22M which has to be used to improve the health and outlook of the city. Non-profits, projects, municipal departments, and schools all see that they can make things better.
Mayor Joshua García talks about the ideas that can contribute to making the quality of life for all Holyoke residents better.
