FROM FELICIA LUNQUIST:

Think Again Training & Consulting supports individuals, organizations and communities to enact social justice principles in their life and work.

Learning about diversity and social justice issues is always a life-long process, and our goal is to help your team take the best next step in its journey, whatever that may be. When we train we are asking folks to apply what they learn to each situation, whether it be in their personal or professional lives.

This year Think Again has put together an exciting menu of special Pride Month programs that can help create more inclusive spaces while celebrating the diversity and brilliance of LGBTQIA+ communities. In addition to our usual range of custom-tailored training and consulting services, these programs offer brief, engaging opportunities to open up conversations about LGBTQIA+ issues in your organization and communities.

All the programs on this menu can be offered in as little as an hour, or in longer, more interactive, in-depth versions. All can be provided remotely, and some can be offered in person depending on location and timing. The cost ranges from $1000 to $5000 and depends on the topic and group/organization size. We’ll also have a few sessions open for individual registration at a sliding scale costTrans/forming Allyship, Doing Racial Justice in LGBTQIA+ Communities, Community Resilience Practices for Trans Thriving (with CE credits) and more! See the website for scheduling and registration info.

Please check out the menu (also attached) feel free to circulate it in your networks. For more information or to schedule a program, you can reach us at:

Trans/forming Allyship mini (June 8 2023 02:00 PM EDT – 03:00 PM EDT)

In this contradictory moment, we see increasing acceptance of transgender identities along with intense backlash in the form of anti-trans legislation, rhetoric and violence. Trans community members continue to face intense stigma and barriers to participation. Many parents, service providers, and community leaders have good intentions about trans inclusion, but struggle to know what to do or say. This workshop is for anyone who is motivated to build their capacity to more effectively support trans people in their personal, professional and community contexts. This is not “trans 101” – more than definitions, we instead focuses on the personal practices and actions we can take to more effectively support trans people in our lives.

This snack-sized version of our longer Trans/forming Allyship training leads participants through short presentations, discussions and individual reflection to assess their own capacity for effective, accountable allyship with trans communities, identify gaps, and make a plan to do better.

Target Audience

This workshop is for anyone who is motivated to build their capacity to more effectively support trans people in their personal, professional and community contexts: parents and other relatives, teachers and youth workers, mental health providers, community leaders and friends.

Doing Racial Justice in LGBTQ+ Communities (Thursday, June 15, 2023 04:30 PM EDT – 06:00 PM EDT)

This workshop is for anyone who is committed to doing racial justice within LGBTQ+ communities: community leaders, service providers, white LGBTQ+ folks who want to do better, and LGBTQ+ folks of color who want to build strategies and solidarity.

This training will provide a multi-racial space for people working within queer and trans communities to explore racism and white supremacist culture within these communities. Using self-reflection and dialogic skills, we will draw from anti-racist activism and scholarship to examine our own positionalities and how we can move our communities closer to racial justice.

This is an interactive workshop, including small-group discussion in breakout rooms. Depending on the group, we hope to provide opportunities for racial affinity space in breakout rooms for those who want that.

Target Audience

This workshop is for anyone who is committed to doing racial justice within LGBTQ+ communities: community leaders, service providers, white LGBTQ+ folks who want to do better, and LGBTQ+ folks of color who want to build strategies and solidarity.
