Holyoke Media Presents: Gabriela Alcántara Pohls and her new bilingual podcast, ‘Zapatos Rojos’.
NEW PODCAST ALERT!
We welcome Gabriela Alcántara Pohls to our fantastic group of podcast producers at Holyoke Media. Gabriela is an artist and a retired teacher, born and raised in Mexico, and currently a Holyoke resident.
Gabriela is the producer, researcher, and host of a new bilingual podcast, “Zapatos Rojos” (Red Shoes). This is a bilingual podcast, with two versions of the same episode, one in Spanish, and the other in English. One of the reasons for this bilingual concept is to give visibility and access to conversations and discussions to people from Latin America in their own language, with different topics of local, regional, national, and global relevance in our day-to-day activities.
Her first episode about the Fiestas Patronales, the Patron Saint Festivities was released in late July, without disclosing the actual podcast’s name. Now, we share its name and concept, as the second episode is ready to be released, which is about Hispanic Heritage Month.
You can listen to ‘Zapatos Rojos’ by Gabriela Alcántara Pohls on our podcast feed, Holyoke Media Podcasts, available everywhere you listen to podcasts, and also on our website, holyokemedia.org
