Holyoke Media Presents: Ruben Ubiera talks about his mural, part of the Beyond Walls Street Art Tour.

Beyond Walls is bringing to Holyoke, a new collection of 10 murals, created by international artists, transforming the empty walls of building in downtown Holyoke, into canvasses for the visual expression, in shapes, colors, and images that represent the culture and vibrancy of Holyoke.

In this conversation, Al Wilson, founder and CEO of Beyond Walls, brought us Dominican mural artist, Ruben Ubiera. His mural is being painted on the side wall of the Holyoke Health Center building, and it will display his iconic gorilla imagery.

Ubiera, is a neo-figurative artist, and he describes himself as a Postgraffiti artist. Also, he shares that he prefers to work during night time, almost as in a way to surprise the public with the evolution of his work, come daylight.
