Julio Cesar Diaz, a Texas-born Centroamericano, lives in Western Massachusetts. As a gay bilingual poet, their work questions their own frameworks of (queer) family, memory, and hyper realistic dreams. Diaz was the recipient of the 2023 Mass MoCA Massachusetts Artist Fellowship, 2022 Daniel and Merrily Glosband MFA Fellowship in Poetry and was a finalist for the 2022 James Hearst Poetry Prize. Diaz has received scholarships from the Bread Loaf Conferences as Translator and Writer, Palm Beach Festival, and the Juniper Institute. They serve as a reader for Frontier Poetry and editor for Poetry Currency. Their work can be found in The Cortland Review, Pleiades Magazine, North American Review, Southword Journal, and elsewhere.”
