In a press conference Friday (5/2/2024), Mayor Josh Garcia announced that Chief David Pratt plans to retire on July 31, 2024 after 31 years of service with the Holyoke Police Department. The search for a new chief will be lead by the Police Relations Advisory Committee, the City’s Personnel director and Chair of the City Council’s Public Safety Committee. Captain Isaias Cruz has been chosen as interim Chief and will serve in the position until a permanent Chief is found.
