Explore the trails at Gloutak Woods, learn how CPA funding made possible this project.
Gloutak Woods is a conservation area located in Ward 5, on the western side of the city of Holyoke, near the border with the municipality of Southampton In 2019, a fund was awarded for the purchase and conservation of a 51.7-acre parcel of forested land adjacent to Gloutak Park on Rock Valley Road, all possible by the funds provided by the Community Preservation Act, also known as CPA.
We got the opportunity to talk to Meg Magrath-Smith, Chair of the CPA Committee, and Yoni Glogower, Holyoke Director of Conservation and Sustainability to learn more about this project.
As a way to celebrate and unveil the new trails and resources available at Gloutak Woods, there will be a public event on Friday, April 21st, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. with tours of the new trails at Gloutak Woods, and activities for children.
